Police releases sketches of bank robbers

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 26 (UNI) The Fatehgarh Sahib police today released sketches of two of the three robbers involved in Rs 46 lakh robbery of Khamano branch of State Bank of India recently.

Fatehgarh Sahib SP (HQ) Preetpal Singh Virk released the sketches of two robbers during a press conference held at CIA Staff, Sirhind today.

Speaking to media persons, Mr Virk said the sketches were prepared by a Karnal-based computer expert who had prepared with the help of a computer software prepared it.

He said that robbers are between the age of 25 to 35 and all were clean-shaven. He said that they were Punjabis as they were speaking Punjabi language while talking with each others while comitting robbery.

He ruled out possibility that robbers were associated with terrorists during terrorism period in Punjab.

He said that the sketch of third person would be released soon.

He appealed the people to cooperate with the police and added that suitable award would be given to those who supply information about the whereabouts of the robbers.

He said there was security lapse on the part of the bank authorities as the bank alarm was off. Police had now requested the banks to install CCTV cameras in the premises.
