Islamabad, Oct 26: President Pervez Musharraf has assured the Pakistan Muslim League (Qaid) that the next Prime Minister would be from the PML-Q. "You will be my ultimate choice to form the next government and in the next caretaker set up." "Now, it"s my turn to support you," Musharraf said, as the party had given him "unflinching support" in critical times.

"This impression is not correct that the PPP will form the caretaker and next government. The PML-Q is dearer to me and will remain so," he told legislators of the PML-Q and its allies at a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Musharraf said IB chief Brigadier (retired) Ejaz Shah would not be removed on Benazir Bhutto"s demand.

"He is my friend; I had a meeting with him over a cup of tea on Wednesday and will have lunch with him on Friday."

The president took exception to Sindh Chief Minister Dr Ghulam Arbab Rahim"s assertion that the Chief Secretary and Home Secretary of the province do not listen to his orders.

"You are the chief executive of the province, if you have no control over the bureaucracy, it is better you leave your office immediately," sources quoted Musharraf, as saying.

The Daily Times quoted Musharraf as saying that there would be no investigation of the Karachi carnage from outside.
