Japan Sept nationwide core CPI -0.1 pct yr/yr

TOKYO, Oct 26 (Reuters) Japanese core consumer prices fell 0.1 percent in September from a year earlier, marking the eighth straight month of annual declines and matching economists' consensus forecast, government data showed on Friday.

In the Tokyo area, the core consumer price index (CPI), which excludes volatile fresh food prices, was unchanged at 0.0 percent in October compared with a year earlier, against the consensus forecast of a flat reading.

The government announces Tokyo area figures a month before the nationwide figures.
