IT sleuths raid Reddy's residence, office and mines

Bellary, Karnataka, Oct 26 (UNI) Income Tax Department officials today conducted raid on the office, residence and mines belonging to Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council G Janardhana Reddy.

According to initial information, over 100 officials from Davanagere, with the assistance of local police, began conducting raid simultaneously on the houses of many of the relatives of Mr Reddy and his Rukmini Steels and Obalapur Mines in the District bordering Andhra Pradesh.

However, the media was prohibited from covering the operation and police had cordoned off the places of raids.

The department officials also searched offices and homes of some other mine owners in the city.

Details of the seizures made was not immediately known, as search operations were still on, department sources said.
