Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Prices of copper heavy and copper wire bars in ferrous and non ferrous metals ruled better today on firm advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), while copper and aluminium prices rose on fresh industrial users demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In the ferrous category (per quintal), copper heavy and copper utensils rose by Rs 200 each on lack of in heavy offers by stockists, induced by encouraging advice from Kolkata, Delhi and other centres.
In the non-ferrous segment (per quintal), copper wire bars went up by Rs 100 on improved industrial users demand in face of lesser arrivals of stocks from upcountry centres.
However, zinc slab, aluminium ingots and lead ingots were unchanged on lack of demand from local dealers due to weak advice from LME along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres.
Similarly, nickel cathode and tin slab remained unchanged owing to larger stock supplies and thin demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals - Copper heavy: Rs 35,400, Copper utensils: Rs 32,200, Brass utensils: Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings: Rs 26,700 and Aluminium utensils: Rs 10,700.
