Cop shoots wife, critical in UP

Mahoba, Oct 26: A police sub inspector shot at and critically wounded his wife in Mauranipur town of Jhansi district.

The victim was battling for life at Jhansi Medical College. According to Panvadi police station in charge Dinesh Sharma was going to Jhansi for an official work yesterday.

However, the cop went to his house in Mauranipur to meet his family where he picked up a fight with his wife Kapuri Devi (50).

When the issue snowballed, Dinesh first beat up Kapuri and shot her with his service revolver and fled on his government jeep.

Meanwhile, Mahoba police superintendent has suspended the cop.
