10 IPS officers promoted, 8 transferred

Patna, Oct 26 (UNI) With a view to tuning up the state police administration, the Bihar government today promoted two Additional Director General(ADG) rank officers to the rank of Director General(DG) while seven Inspector Generals(IGs) and one Deputy Inspector General(DIG) were promoted to ADG and IG, while eight other IPS officers were transferred.

Official sources said here that the ADG cum Managing Director of the state police construction department, Anand Shankar and ADG(civil defence) Manojnath were promoted to the rang of Director General at the same places.

IG (weaker section) A K Gupta, IG (vigilance) RCP Sinha, IG(Darbhanga Range) R L Kanaujia, IG (training) C Leema Imchen, IG(Home Guard) Rajeev Ranjan Verma, IG(Muzaffarpur range) Krishna Chaudhary and IG (head quarters) Anil Kumar Sinha had been promoted to the rank of ADG.

Deputy Inspector General(DIG) of Bhagalpur range Girjanand Sharma had been promoted to IG and shifted to Crime Research Beureau.

DG of Bihar state sports authority Shiv Chandra Jha had been transferred to state fire extinguish services in the same capacity.

IG (law and order) A C Verma had been shifted to Technical services and communication while Ravindra Verma who was earlier in that position, had been sent to Headquarter (legal affairs and administration).
