7-year-old kidnapped boy found dead

Surat, Oct 25 (UNI) A seven-year-old boy, who was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 25 lakhs, was found dead in a flower market of the Varachcha area today.

The boy, Hiren Patel, studying in the Standard first here, was kidnapped by some unidentified persons yesterday while he was playing outside his home. The kidnappers called his father, Jayanti Patel, and asked for a ransom of Rs 25 lakh for the release of the child.

The family then lodged a complaint with the police, who found the boy's dead body in a carton from a flower market this morning.

The Varachcha police have registered a case and a man-hunt has been launched to trace the absonding kidnappers.
