According to a press release here, a group of scientists, who met at the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) under the Chairmanship of Prof M V Rao, Special Director-General of Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR), appreciated Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's efforts to improve the food security of the poor through the sale of subsidised foodgrains.
'The scheme would help the poor to save money as it can be used to widen the food basket of the family by including of rich foods like vegetables and fruits,' they observed.
