SC fixes Oct 26 for Talkatora swimming pool plea

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) The New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has moved the Supreme Court for permission to construct a swimming pool in Talkatora Stadium for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Counsel for NDMC today mentioned the application for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices R V Raveendran and Dalveer Bhandari.

The apex court has fixed October 26 as the date for hearing the application.

No construction can be carried out without the permission of the court as the Talkatora stadium is situated in the ridge area which is reserved for forest land.
