Rs 16,000 crore investment on multiplexes in Punjab
Chandigarh, Oct 24 (UNI) Industries and Commerce Minister Manoranjan Kalia today calimed that the Punjab Government had given approval for implementation of 99 mega multiplex projects in the state involving an investment of more than Rs 16,000 crore.
In a statement issued here, the minister said that the setting up of these multiplexes would provide employment to the people in state. These projects would also lead to revenue earning in form of VAT collection and eventually in the form of entertainment tax.
The Minister said that a special committee under the Chief Secretary had been set up to monitor the clearance of these projects by different departments.
