Register murder cases against cops: APCLC
Hyderabad,
Oct
24:
The
Andhra
Pradesh
Civil
Liberties
Council
(APCLC)
and
Human
Rights
Forum
(HRF)
today
demanded
that
the
Vishakhapatnam
police
should
register
cases
against
the
policemen
involved
in
the
killing
of
two
persons
in
'fake
enounter.'
Addressing
the
press
here,
APCLC
state
Joint
Secretary
B
Suresh
alleged
that
Anil
and
Brahmam
were
killed
in
fake
encounter
by
the
police
without
registering
cases
against
them
after
taking
them
into
custody
in
connection
with
the
murder
of
bank
official
K
K
Prasad
recently.
Demanding that the government order a probe into Prasad's murder by an independent agency and register murder cases against the policemen involved in the encounter, he said the Fact Finding Committee of the Rights Forum had raised doubts on the encounter, after conducting a study.
Alleging that the Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Sabmasiva Rao had 'abused' the rights members when they went to meet him in connection with the encounter, HRF city secretary K Murali demanded that the government should suspend the Police Commissioner immediately.
