Punjab to form committees to review funds for SC schemes

Chandigarh, Oct 24 (UNI) The Punjab government has today decided to constitute district level committees to review and analyse the funds released for various schemes under sub-plans for scheduled castes in the state.

Stating this here Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Gulzar Singh Ranike said that Deputy Commissioners would head these committees. AdditionalDeputy Commissioners would function as vice-presidents, MLAs from the districts and Associations for Scheduled Castes would be the members. The district welfare officers would function as member's secretaries of these committees.

The committees would meet every month for analysis of funds released and used funds for the scheme for scheduled castes.
