No move to appoint Sukhbir as CM: Badal
Jalandhar, Oct 24 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal today scotched speculations in political circles about possibility of elevating SAD (Badal) acting president Sukhbir Singh Badal as chief minister of the state.
''There is no such move,'' Mr Badal replied emphatically to a query on whether Mr Sukhbir Badal, who is also his son, was being groomed to takeover the reins of the state from his octogenarian father.
He was talking to media persons after inaugurating the newly constructed Rs 14 crore inter-state bus terminus here.
Mr Badal also cautioned Mr Manpreet Badal to ''check the facts before speaking'' when asked to comment on the economic condition of the state government, as described by the state Finance Minister in a section of media.
Mr Badal asserted that the state was in ''good health'' and there was no financial crisis. That is why a number of developmental projects were being taken up by the government and private industrial projects were also comin up, he added.
