Moily lauds AP Government's rapid development in 3 years

Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, Veerappa Moily today said rapid development has taken place in all sectors in the state during the past three years.

Talking to newspersons here after attending the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Executive Committee and DCC Presidents meeting, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajaskhara Reddy had initiated several schemes for development.

Mr Moily said the state budget, which was in defecit during the previous TDP Government, was now in surplus and the state Govenment had been spending crores of rupees on various welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.

He said because of the efforts taken by Dr Reddy, the IT exports had gone up to Rs 18,000 crore from Rs 5000 crore.

The Government had proposed to construct 75 lakh houses for poor people during its present term, Mr Moily said, adding that the Government had provided loans to 80 lakh women through DWACRA groups to uplift their economic conditons in rural areas.
