Jamia to start new Phd programme in Interdisciplinary research

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Jamia Millia Islamia University today announced that it will start a new PhD programme in the Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, from the next academic session.

The Centre is meant for the interdisciplinary research in basic sciences with its main thrust of research in the area of biological sciences.

It provides opportunities for those who are trained in basic sciences (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) and life sciences having desire to pursue research in novel areas of modern biology.

A scholar registered in the PhD programme of the Centre is expected to undergo one year extensive course.

The Centre is starting its PhD programme from July 2008.

Applications are invited on plain paper with proofs of passing B Sc and and M Sc examinations. An entrance test will conducted in the month of July 2008 followed by an interview.

All JRFs (CSIR, ICMR, UGC, BDT, ST, etc.) are exempted from the entrance test.

However, they have to appear for the interview. Dates for the test and interview will be announced later, a University statement said.
