ELECRAMA-2008 in Mumbai from January 18

Bangalore, Oct 24 (UNI) ELECRAMA-2008 the world's largest trade fair of Power Transmission and Distribution equipment manufacturers and electrical and electronics industries exhibition of Asia, Africa and Middle East will be held in Mumbai from January 18, Mr Vimala Mahendru, Chairman of ELECRAMA-2008 said today.

Addressing newsmen here, he said that in the five-day ELECRAMA, organised by Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA), an apex body of Indian Industry, over 1000 exhibitors from 700 companies both domestic and International would showcase their products.

He said that the mega trade fair focused towards welcoming international community including buyers and investors and making them to believe that the future of power was lies in India. The event would provides an ideal platform for Indian and foreign companies to showcase their products. "Event will be an ideal forum for developing contact, transacting business for all the stakeholders in the industry including manufacturers, trade partners, consultants and policy makers" he added.

Stating that over Rs 12 lakh crores investment was expected to pour in to generate over One lakh MW of power in the next five years in the country, Mr Mahendru said that "we are looking at a projected investment in power generation of around USD 67 Billion and in power transmission and distribution of USD 60 Billion," he added.

The ELECRAMA will act as a barometer of the industry's strength and maturity and also offers an unparalleled window of access to a bold new future of immense opportunities to exhibitors, visitors and consumers, he added.
