Wild elephants destroy paddy fields

Kohima, Oct 23 (UNI) A herd of pachyderm has destroyed vast areas of paddy fields in Kushiabill village under Dimapur district recently.

Kushiabill Village Council Chairman Viniho Shohe said the elephants entered the village area and destroyed paddy fields and several other properties.

He had also appealed to the Nagaland government to assess the damage and compensate the poor farmers.
