Chandigarh, Oct 23 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to regulate power supply in its command area comprising Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Sonepat, Jhajjar and Jind districts with immediate effect.

The decision has been taken due to increasing demand of electricity particularly in agriculture sector, festival season and less availability of electricity from the hydro generating stations due to low level of water in reservoirs, a UHVBN spokesperson said today.

The electricity supply would be restricted to industrial and independent industrial feeders from 1800 hrs to 2200 hrs.

The Nigam would supply two phase power to the villages for two hours during the morning and for five hours during the evening peak load hours. The rural consumers would also get three phase power supply during the power supply period of tubewells.

The power would be supplied in two groups to agricultural and rural feeders.

The spokespersonn said the Nigam would make all possible efforts to arrange more power for the consumers through short term purchases and subject to grid parameters and availability in the system.
