Traders urge govt to take control of Chamber

Puducherry, Oct 23 (UNI) The co-ordination committee of all traders association in Puducherry has urged the government to take immediate steps to exercise control over the administration of the Chamber De Commerce here.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at a General Body meeting of the Committee recently.

In a letter to Lt Governor Mukut Mithi along with a copy of the resolution, Committee Coordinator A S Mohammed Nizam said properties of the Chamber was occupied by two persons illegally since the term of the elected committee members expired in June 1975, and thereafter no election of members was conducted as per the French decree of 1934.

In this situation, the administration should take control of the Chamber and to restore its old status, he urged.
