SI, constable land in ACB net

Palanpur, Oct 23 (UNI) A police sub-inspector and a constable of Danta Police station landed in the Anti Corruption Bureau's (ACB) net while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a bus owner at Danta.

According to ACB Inspector GB Barot, the SI, M V Desai, and the constable, Tulsiram Kalubhai Parmar, had demanded Rs 10,000 for releasing a luxury bus which was impounded by the police soon after an accident near Ambaji on October 12.

He today said the deal was finally settled at Rs 7000 -- Rs 5000 to the SI and Rs 2000 to the constable.

The complainant, Arvindbhai Chhaganbhai Vankar of Vadodara, contacted local ACB who laid the trap and caught the duo while accepting bribe yesterday evening.
