SHO sent to lines

Gorakhpur, Oct 23 (UNI) Station House Officer (SHO) of Gagha area has been sent to lines for laxity here.

Police Superintendent (rural) S P Upadhyay today said, ''the action has been taken, following the last night incident, where a Godess Durga idol was desecrated and temple priest attacked by a person in Gagha town.'' Irked over the incident, a mob had later blocked the movement of traffic on Varanasi-Gorakhpur highway.

SHO Veerendra Vikram Singh has been attached to lines, he added.
