Sanjay Dutt holds discussion with lawyers

Pune, Oct 23 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was lodged at the Yerawada Jail here late last night after his surrender before the TADA court in Mumbai, spent the day holding discussions with his lawyers today on filing a bail plea in the Supreme Court.

Sanjay's lawyers arrived in the afternoon and were engaged in fine-tuning their strategy for making a strong stand for securing bail for the actor.

The voluminous copy of the judgement will also take a few days to be read and, in all probability, he will be spending the coming festival of 'Diwali' in jail as even the courts will be closed owing to holiday.

Sanjay was convicted to six-year RI by Special TADA Judge P D Kode in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case under the Arms Act.

He had earlier been brought to Yerawada Jail on the night of July 31 and was out on bail after remaining there for three weeks on a technical point of not receiving a copy of the judgement.
