''Mrs. Parks sat down to stand up for justice.'' -- Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, a leader in the Birmingham civil rights movement on Rosa Parks, who galvanised the U.S. civil rights movement by refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white man in 1955. Parks died on Oct. 24, 2005.
