Religious scholars to participate in 'Revathi Pattathanam'

Kozhikode, Oct 23 (UNI) Many religious scholars are expected to participate in the historical 'Revathi Pattathanam' (Scholarly Debate) at Tali Mahadeva Temple here on October 25.

The best scholar adjudged from the annual ritual would be honoured with a cash award by the Kozhikode Zamorin, Revathi Pattathana Samithy chairman T M Sarvothaman Nedungadi told reporters here today.

Prior to the beginning of the debate, a religious procession would be taken to the temple, he said.

This year's Krishnageethi and Temple Artist Awards, instituted by the Samithy, would be presented to poet C A Warrier and Guruvayur Kala Nilayam member Narayanan Namboothiri respectively.

Both the awards carrying Rs 5,001 and Rs 3,001 respectively, Krishnasila and citation would be presented to them by Zamorin P K S Raja at the function.

A cultural event would also be held as part of the annual ritual, he added.
