Nikkei opens up 0.3 percent, led by Softbank

TOKYO, Oct 23 (Reuters) Japan's Nikkei average opened 0.3 percent higher on Tuesday, led by telecoms and Internet group Softbank Corp and tracking gains on Wall Street.

As of 0001 GMT the benchmark Nikkei gained 48.24 points to 16,486.71. The broader TOPIX index rose 0.5 percent to 1,570.93.
