Man shoots his lover, commits suicide

Mangalore, Oct 23 (UNI) A 'one-sided' love affair today ended in a tragedy when a desperate youth shot his 'lover' with a revolver and later ended his life in Sullya taluk in Dakshina Kannada district.

Police identified the lover as Vinod, who died instantaneously while the injured girl was battling for life in a hospital.

Police said Mr Vinod was in love with a girl but she was least interested in him. Disgusted over the repeated refusal he went to the house of the girl in Aranthodu village here and shot her.

Immediately, he shot himself and met with the tragic end.

A case had been registered and investigation was underway.
