Life convict dies in hospital

Baripada, Oct 23 (UNI) A life convict lodged in Baripada circle jail died at the district headquarters hospital here yesterday, police said today.

When contacted the Senior Superintendent of Baripada Circle Jail said one Hara Singh Badra, son of Samu Badra of Kusan village under Besoi police station was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life on March 7 last by the Rairangpur Additional Sessions Judge.

He was one of the six persons sentenced to life imprisonment by the sessions court in a murder case.The convicted persons also included his thirtyfive year old wife Champu Badra.

The deceased Hara Singh Badra was earlier admitted into the district headquarter hospital for treatment. He was suffering from some nerve related ailments, jail sources said.

The convicted persons were transferred from Rairangpur sub-jail to Baripada circle jail on March 9 last.

Badra's wife also an inmate of the Baripada circle jail was taken to the district headquarter government hospital to see her husband.

The body was taken to his home for funeral after the post-mortem examinations this evening,sources said.
