Law books and furniture gutted at library

Bangaon, Oct 22: The Bangaon Lawyers' Association Library here in North 24 Parganas was today found reduced to ashes, police said.

An association spokesman said the lawyers attending the court today noticed that several expensive books and furniture of the library were burnt.

Law books worth about Rs 50,000 and many chairs and tables were destroyed.

Police said the cause of the fire could not yet be ascertained, adding that an investigation was on.
