Haryana School Education Board to have Research Wing

Chandigarh, Oct 23 (UNI) The Haryana Board of School Education has decided to set up a 'Research Wing' in the Board to further raise the standard of education in the state.

This was stated by Commissioner and Secretary (Education) and Board Chairman Rajan Gupta while presiding over the meeting of the Board of Directors at the Board Headquarters at Bhiwani.

He said new Research Wing would study the best school teaching practices in the country to bring about qualitative improvement in syllabi, teaching-learning processes, conduct of examinations and teacher-oriented programmes would be made.

The Chairman stressed the need of adopting project-based learning alongwith workbook orientation by devising different small and big activities.

Mr Gupta said a significant decision had been taken to introduce ''Kalpana Chawla Award'' in middle, secondary and three streams of Senior Secondary for the topper girls from results of 2007.
