Itanagar, Oct 23 (UNI) The Federation of Elected Women Representatives of Arunachal Pradesh (FEWRAP) has announced that it would organise pre-election orientation camps ahead of the Panchayat elections in the state scheduled next year.
In a release issued here yesterday, the FEWRAP with Upper Subansiri Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Yater Nasi as its president, Lower Subansiri ZPC Toko Rich as vice-president, East Siang ZPC Nanom Jamoh as convenor and Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) as chief patron, stated that the federation would organise pre-election orientations in Tirap district where the women could not benefit from the 2003 reservation policy.
The Hunger Project Arunachal Chapter and APSCW will collaborate in the orientation programme, the release added.
The federation added that the lapsed Eleventh Finance Commission grant of Rs 26.38 crore should be revalidated to ensure that there were no technical difficulties.
The FEWRAP would also urge the state government to immediately release the Twelfth Finance Commission grant of Rs 68 lakh.
