Chandigarh, Oct 23 (UNI) Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda today asked Indian National Lok Dal Supremo Om Parkash Chautala and former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal to clarify their stand on BML Hansi Butana Multipurpose Canal on which the Haryanag government was spending Rs 354 crore.
Addressing a series of public meetings during his visit to a number of villages in Mahendergarh district, Mr Deepender Singh said Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was committed for the equal distribution of water available in the state and for this purpose BML Hansi Bhtana Multipurpose Canal was being constructed.
He said a number of village Panchayats of Adampur constituency had sent proposals to the Governor of Haryana against the construction of this canal.
He asked Mr Bhajan Lal to clarify his stand whether he was in favour of equal distribution of water to the people of Nangal Chaudhry of district Mahendergarh and that of Adampur Constituency.
Taking a dig at Mr Chautala, Mr Deepender Hooda questioned whether he was in favour of equal distribution of irrigation water among the people of the state or not.
He said both the leaders should come out with clear cut stand whether they opposed or supported the efforts of the Chief Minister for providing ample water to the parched fields of southern Haryana .
Mr Deepender Hooda maintained that injustice was being meted out to the people of Southern Haryana since the last 40 years and the leaders who had done injustice to these people had been exposed.
