Dawood's suspected aide held in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested a suspected accomplice of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who had escaped from police custody while being taken from Delhi to Bikaner by train.

Anil Soni, alias Iqbal, was arrested by Delhi police in the Sangam Vihar area here. He was going back to Bikaner with a Rajasthan police team after being brought here for production in a court in a fake currency case, Mr Anil Shukla, DCP (South), said.

A loaded pistol was recovered from him.

Soni, who hails from Varanasi, was sentenced to ten-year imprisonment in another fake currency racket case. He was lodged in a Bikaner jail.

A case regarding his escape has been registered and all members of the escort police team have been arrested for their alleged connivance, the Delhi police said.
