Aizawl, Oct 24 (UNI) Mizoram Pradesh Congress today served a letter to party candidate from Suangpuilawn seat in the 2003 assembly polls H Ngurdingliana in connection with the infamous Suangpuilawn kisnapping case.

''According to the inquiry report, which appeared in the local media, you appeared to be not only involved in it, but had masterminded it,'' the letter addressed to Ngurdingliana stated.

The MPCC office bearers' meeting on October 16 discussed the matter at length and agreed to hear an explanation from the Congress party's candidate, the letter said.

The party demanded an explanation in writting as to why his name had appeared in the picture before October 31, 2007.

Ngurdingliana, son of former Congress minister Dr H Thansanga, was one of the three candidates of Suangpuilawn constituency, who were 'kidnapped' one day ahead of polling day in the 2003 elections.

The other 'kidnap victims' were Vaninmawia(Mizo National Front) and H Laltanpuia(Mizo People's Conference).

According to the report, which was furnished under the RTI Act, to an Aizawl weekly last week, it turned out that the 'kidnapping' was an 'act done from within' than that carried out by a gang of underground outfits.

The abduction appeared to have been staged (by the victims) to tarnish the image of independent candidate H Lalsangzuala, who was allegedly supported by Hmar insurgent group HPC(D).
