Bodies of three trekkers found after 15 days

Howrah, Oct 23 (UNI) Bodies of three trekkers, who went missing on October 5 amidst bad weather in Leh's Paranglapa area of Himachal Pradesh, were finally recovered today.

The relatives of these three persons, who were believed to have gone missing on that fateful day, had been asked to come and identify the bodies. Following their identification, Union I&B Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi and Howrah's MP Swadesh Chakroborty took the initiative to bringing their bodies by plane.

On September 26, an eight-member trekking team left Howrah's Shibpur area for Leh. Halfway through their venture, three went missing during a period of torrential weather in the upper slopes.

Unable to find them, a rescue search had been taken up. Fifteen days after the incident actually occurred, the bodies have been successfully recovered.

The MP and Howrah DM Khalil Ahmed today arrived at the spot, as soon as the bodies were brought.
