BJP worker succumbs

Thrissur, Oct 23 (UNI) A BJP activist, who sustained injuries in a clash with DYFI workers at Kottappuram on September 30, died at his residence at Neendoor in Vadakkekkara near here today.

Sanil Kumar (27), initially admitted to Kodungallur Taluk Hospital, was later shifted to a private hospital. He was undergoing Ayurvedic treatment at the time of his death.

Police had arrested five persons in this connection. Previous enmity was said to be the cause of the assault.

The BJP has called for a hartal in Methala area tomorrow as a mark of protest.
