BJP opposes TN Government's bill for reservation
Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today opposed the bill passed by the Tamil Nadu Government yesterday for providing 3.5 per cent reservation each for the backward class Christian and Muslim minorities in education and employment.
Talking to newspersons here, BJP Legal Cell National Joint-Convenor N Ramchander Rao said the Andhra Pradesh Government had set a wrong precedence by providing four per cent reservation for Muslims in education and employment.
According to Mr Rao the bill providing seven per cent quota for the minorities from the 30 per cent reservation presently enjoyed by the backward classes amounted to ''injustice'' for BCs.
