Badal orders judicial probe into Dera Baba Fattu Shah

Chandigarh, Oct 23 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today ordered a judicial inquiry, to be conducted by a retired District and Sessions Judge, to ascertain the facts about the rightful ownership and management of the Dera Baba Fattu Shah Bibi Sahiba, Rahimpur in Hoshiarpur district.

An official spokesman said the terms and conditions of the probe would be finalised within two days.

The controversy regarding the ownership of Dera Baba Fattu Shah Bibi Sahiba has been rocking the district for sometime now and led to some violent clashes between rival groups.

There was a growing feeling among the local population that a proper inquiry should be held to get to the root of the problem and accordingly, the Chief Minister has responded by ordering an inquiry, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, efforts were afoot at all levels including those of the government to resolve the issue amicably in the larger interest of the public, the spokesman added.
