16 hurt in bomb attack

Narsinghpur(MP), Oct 23 (UNI) At least 16 people were injured, six seriously, when the participants in a religious procession taken out for immersion of the Durga idol were attacked with bombs at Bagasafar village near Gotegaon in this district yesterday, police said.

The seriously injured were admitted to a hospital at Jabalpur.

The villagers had suspended the idol immersion following the attack, which is attributed to election-related political rivalry, police said.

Police registered a case under section 307 IPC and detained four people for interrogation.
