11 killed in two accidents in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 23 (UNI) Eleven people, including three women, were killed and nine others injured in two different accidents in Nasik district of Maharashtra today.

In the first accident, six persons, including three women, were killed and nine others injured in a collision between a pick-up van and a truck on Surgana road near Vani, about 20 km from here.

The accident occurred when the van was on its way to Saputara from Vani, while the truck was coming from the opposite direction.

The injured have been admitted to rural hospital at Vani and civil hospital at Nashik, police said.

In the other accident, five people were killed when their car collided head-on with a tanker near Pandhurli village on the Sinnar-Pandhurli road.

All the victims were occupants of the car, who died on the spot.

In both accidents, the identity of the deceased persons is yet to be ascertained, police added.
