Woman commits suicide after poisoning children

Kapurthala, Oct 22 (UNI) A woman here allegedly committed suicide after giving poison to her three-year-old daughter and three- month-old son, in her matrimonial house at village Miani Bahadur in this district.

While Sukhwinder Kaur and her daughter died, her three-month old son was struggling for life in a private hospital at Jalandhar.

The father of the deceased, Waryam Singh, alleged in a complaint to the police, that his daughter was driven to take the extreme step as she was being tortured by her in-laws and drug-addict husband Suba Singh.

Police have registered a case under section 306 and 34IPC against father-in-law , mother-in-law and brother-in-law on the complaint of the father.
