Wipro Q2 net profit up by 17.5 pc

Bangalore, Oct. 22, 2007 : India's third-largest outsourcing company, Wipro Ltd. has reported a 17.5% increase in net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal when compared with the same period of the last fiscal.

For the quarter to end-September, its net profit rose to 8.23 bln rupees from 7.10 bln rupees in the preceding quarter as revenues rose to 47.84 bln rupees from 41.83 bln earlier.
