Terror threat in K'taka has come down: DGP

Gulbarga, Karnataka, Oct 22: Karnataka IGP K R Sreenivasan today said that though the central intelligence reports had suggested that possibility of terror threats on the state had come down, the police will continue to keep high vigil on key installations.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines after inaugurating the ITF Men's Tennis tournament here he said high alert against any possible terrorism related threats would continue in Karnataka, especially in and around the major IT companies. The state would also go ahead with its plans in strengthening the anti-terrorism squad, he said.

The state administration had provided additional security to IT majors, especially in IT hub of Bangalore city, following reports of possible terror attacks on the IT majors. The companies were also asked to tighten their private security and screen all outsiders who visited their facilities.
