Rice miller injured in shooting incident in Punjab
Muktsar, Oct 22 (UNI) A rice miller was allegedly shot at and injured by the owner of a rice sheller in Malout town of the district today following a dispute over the purchase of paddy from the grain market, police here said.
According to police officials, Gurinderpal Singh was fired upon by Manish Kathuria while he was standing outside the Punsup office in Malout. After firing the shot, the alleged culprit attacked Chandan Kumar, a friend of Gurinderpal, with a sharp edged weapon.
While Gurinderpal was hit on the leg, Chandan received injuries on the head. Both were admitted to a hospital in Malout.
Police has registered a case against Manish Kathuria, who escaped after committing the crime. Gurinderpal is also a member of the Muktsar Nagar Council.
