Punjab Cong grievance panel for politically victimised workers

Chandigarh, Oct 22 (UNI) The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) has constituted a high level state Grievances Co-ordination Committee to hear the complaints of political vendetta against party leaders and workers.

The committee has been constituted on the directions of PPCC chief Rajinder Kaur Bhattal following complaints from party leaders that Congress workers were being booked in false cases at the behest of SAD or BJP leaders.

Headed by PPCC working president Mohinder Singh Kaypee the committee would include working MPs Maharani Preneet Kaur and Rana Gurjit Singh, MLAs Braham Mohindra, Tej Parkash Singh, Harminder Singh Jassi, Darshan Singh Brar, Randeep Singh Nabha, Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Sukhwinder Singh Sarkaria as members.

The panel would also include two former MLAs-- Gurchet Singh Bhullar and Mrs Aruna Chaudhary. Col C D Singh Kamboj would be the convener of the committee.

PPCC Media Incharge Raj Pal Singh said in a statement here today that the committee had been given the powers to scrutinise and screen the genuine grievances of Congress workers submitted through respective district level grievance panels. This committee would take up these complaints at different levels with the government, including the Governor.

It would ensure justice to the grieved party workers who have been targeted due to their party affiliation.
