Pratibha Patil to visit Pondy on Dec 21

Puducherry, Oct 22 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil will pay a one day visit to the Union territory on December 21.

According to official sources here today, Ms Patil would inaugurate a sicence exhibition, jointly organised by the Education Department of the Territorial Administration and the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), on that day.

Ms Patil is also expected to visit the famous Mmanakkula Vinayagar temple, Sri Aurobindo ashram and the Auroville.

This would be her first visit after assuming office as President.

Earlier, she had visited Puducherry to seek support for her candidature in the Presidential election.

A high level meeting had been convened at the Chief Secretariat to discuss and finalise isues pertaining to her security and reception, the sources added.
