Police inspector suspended for thrashing corporator

Jammu, Oct 22 (UNI) A sub-inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police was suspended for thrashing a local Corporator here, sources said here today.

Sources said Surinder Singh Shinghari, a local corporator, was beaten by police Post In-charge after he entered in a scuffle with him over some issue.

'' Sub-inspector Deepankar Singh, In-charge Police Post Parade, thrashed the corporator when the duo had a heated exchange of words,'' sources said.

Later, hundreds of people led by Surinder staged-protest outside the police post demanding Deepankar's suspension.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Parminder Singh told UNI that taking serious note, the sub-inspector has been suspended and an enquiry ordered.
