NE Monsoon strikes Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22 (UNI) The North East Monsoon which set over Kerala today brought heavy rains at many places in the state.

Lakshwadeep received light rain, according to the Local Met office here.

Chalakudi recorded the maximum rainfall of 6 cm followed by Alapuzha and Chertala which received 4 cm each.

Irikur and Kochi Airport recorded 3 cm of rain each, while Ottapalam and Mangombu received 2 cm each.

Isolated heavy rains have been forecast in the state in the next 48 hours.
