NCC boat expedition concludes

Kochi, Oct 22 (UNI) The ten-day whaler-boat expedition of Naval NCC cadets from here to Kollam and back conluded at the Naval Base here.

Thirty NCC cadets of 7 (Kerala) Naval NCC, Ernakulam drawn from various colleges from the city manned two whaler sail boats and as many motor rescue boats during the expedition, an official release said here today.

The expedition, led by Col R P Mathew, transited through the backwaters of Vembanad, Kayamkulam and Ashtamudi lakes while exploring the flora and fauna of the inlands of Kerala.

The aim of the expedition was to develop spirit of adventure, comradeship among cadets and make them physically and mentally strong.
