Lalitpur dist declared drought hit

Lucknow, Oct 22 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has declared Lalitpur district as drought-hit.

State Relief Commissioner Umesh Sinha said here today the district magistrate had been directed to take necessary measures.

The DMs have been asked to ensure speedy implementation of the action plan to deal with the drought situation.

The district had received deficient rainfall and more than 50 per cent of the kharif crop was destroyed.
